Implant Course
SDS Ceramic Implants
Smile Dental Academy and Swiss Dental Solutions bring you a one day hands-on introduction to modern ceramic implantology, with a focus on immediate zirconia implantation. The day covers the evidence base for metal-free implants, the biological rationale behind them, and the clinical protocols that make ceramic implant cases predictable. The course takes you through case selection, the SDS surgical protocol, immediate placement and loading in the aesthetic zone, and how to optimise hard and soft tissue outcomes, finishing with supervised hands-on placement on models.

Exclusive Offer for Course Participants
Attendees who purchase 10 implants will receive a complimentary surgical tray. This is an exclusive offer, as our standard promotion includes a free surgical tray only with the purchase of 40 implants.
Course Highlights:
Titanium implants have long been considered the gold standard in implant dentistry. However, growing aesthetic demands, increasing interest in metal-free solutions and advances in peri-implant biology have driven the rise of ceramic implant systems. Zirconia implants have emerged as a scientifically proven and clinically reliable alternative.
This one day hands-on course is delivered in partnership with Swiss Dental Solutions (SDS), the world market leader in ceramic dental implants, and gives clinicians a complete, practical framework for placing zirconia implants with confidence, with particular emphasis on immediate implantation in the aesthetic zone.
Morning - Agenda, Aims and Objectives
Why ceramic: the evidence base for zirconia and where it sits alongside titanium
Peri-implant biology, soft tissue response and the low peri-implantitis risk profile of zirconia
The Swiss Biohealth Concept: oral-systemic health, immune preparation and patient selection
One-stage and two-stage tissue-level implant design, and what it means for your prosthetic workflow
Case selection, indications and contraindications for immediate placement
Afternoon - Agenda, Aims and Objectives
The SDS surgical protocol for immediate zirconia implant placement, step by step
Achieving and judging primary stability in the extraction socket
Optimising hard and soft tissue outcomes in the aesthetic zone
Adjunctive and regenerative protocols, including PRF and ozone
Immediate loading and provisionalisation, and reducing chair time
Hands on placement of SDS implants on models under supervision
Why SDS
Global market leader in ceramic implants, with around 30% market share
25 years of experience with a 100% zirconia focus
Swiss made and scientifically validated, with long term data
One and two stage implants, with a broad portfolio covering all indications
Supported by the Swiss Biohealth Education Centre and a global education network
Growing Your Practice
Ceramic implants currently make up less than 1% of the global implant market, yet the market is forecast to grow significantly over the next five to eight years. Metal-free implant solutions allow practices to differentiate, meet growing patient demand and expand their treatment offering, with fewer prosthetic components thanks to tissue level design and standardised protocols that make results more predictable.
Who Should Attend
Dentists already placing implants who want to add a metal-free option to their treatment portfolio, and clinicians with an interest in biological and biocompatible dentistry who are considering ceramic implantology for the first time.

Future is White: Ceramic Implantology with SDS
This one-day hands-on course provides a practical introduction to ceramic implantology, with a focus on the Swiss Dental Solutions (SDS) system.
The first part of the session covers the fundamentals of ceramic implantology, including the key differences between ceramic and conventional titanium implant systems. Participants will gain an overview of the SDS implant system, clinical applications, surgical protocols, and real case presentations demonstrating successful treatment concepts across various indications.
The second part is a practical hands-on workshop. Participants will work through the SDS drilling and placement protocol step by step and gain experience placing different implant shapes and sizes in a range of clinical scenarios. The workshop is designed to demonstrate how ceramic implants can be applied across different treatment indications and to build confidence in their clinical use.
Key Topics
Fundamentals of ceramic implants and their clinical characteristics
Overview of the SDS implant system
Clinical applications and treatment concepts
SDS surgical and drilling protocols
Clinical case presentations
Hands-on implant placement
Implant selection for different clinical indications
This course is ideal for clinicians looking to expand their knowledge of ceramic implantology and gain practical experience with the SDS system through a guided hands-on training session. By the end of the course, participants will be familiar with the SDS workflow, surgical protocol and clinical applications, enabling them to confidently integrate ceramic implants into their daily practice.
About Swiss Dental Solutions
Swiss Dental Solutions (SDS) is the world market leader in ceramic dental implants. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland, with further offices in Germany and the United States, the company employs over 180 people and works with clinicians in more than 30 countries.
SDS implants are made entirely from white zirconia, with no metal. The BRIGHT line is built around immediate implantation, combining a metal-free treatment concept with high material compatibility and natural aesthetics, while tissue-level design keeps the prosthetic workflow simple with few or no additional components.
Behind the products sits the Swiss Biohealth Concept, developed at the company’s own Swiss Biohealth Clinic in Kreuzlingen, a centre of excellence for biological dentistry. It treats implantology as part of whole-body health, covering immune preparation, adjunctive protocols such as PRF and ozone, and standardised workflows that make results repeatable.
SDS has been pioneering ceramic implant development for over 20 years, with its first CE certification for ceramic implants granted in 2004. Training is delivered worldwide through SDS Education and the Scientific Academy for Blood Concentrates, Biological Dentistry and Ceramic Implants.
